Will Dexter Trailer Brake Magnet Kit # BP01-068 for 7 Inch Hub/Drums Fit Alko Brake Drums
Question:
I have a 2010 Rockwood, Freedom 8 pop-up tent trailer. fried the brakes already.........Long story. It has an Alko axle W/ 7 x1 1/4 drums and shoes. Will this break kit fit as well? Alko #623752. Also, are the seals offered at the bottom of the page universal? Thank you in advance,

I contacted our representative at Dexter, and he informed me that the item you selected, Trailer Brake Magnet Kit for 7 Inch Hub/Drums, part # BP01-068 should fit your Alko Axle with 7 x 1-1/4 drums. He informed me that the replacement brake magnet kits for the most part are interchangeable, except for 9K and 10K axles.
Besides replacing the magnet on your brake assemblies, I would recommend inspecting the brake shoes to make sure they are not all the way worn down. It would also be a good idea to inspect the parts of the brake drum to make sure that everything is moving freely and is not stuck. The representative at Dexter informed me that sometimes the actuating arm will get stuck and will constantly be wearing down the brake shoes.
The seals, part # 10-9, and part # RG06-020 have to be matched up to the number on your current grease seal.
