I am not sure why they would say there is no need to install a trailer hitch to carry the Hoveround. How else are you supposed to transport it!?!
You can install a hitch on your 2015 Hyundai Genesis. However, the issue is likely going to be capacity. The hitches for the Genesis have a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. That is the most amount of weight you can suspend from the hitch. The combined weight of the carrier and the Hoveround would likely exceed that capacity of the hitch. Also the carriers that fit the Class I trailer hitches do not have ramps making it difficult to load a Hoveround on them.
What I recommend is to put the Hoveround on a small trailer. This is the safest way to transport it and it greatly reduces the stress on the hitch and vehicle. There are even trailers that are specifically designed for this purpose that you can find online.
To tow one of these trailers you will need a hitch. Curt trailer hitch # C12086 fits the sedan models and # C11086 fits the coupe models. The recommended ball mount for either hitch is # C45521. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19257 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. Then for the pin and clip use # F-4.
And for trailer wiring you can use # HM11143824 for the sedan or # HM11143994 for the coupe. As far as installation of the hitch and wiring any trusted mechanic or RV dealer with a service center can perform the installation.
