Will 215/75R14 Sized Trailer Tires Fit on 14 by 6 Inch Rims

Question:

I am looking to replace the 4 205/75R14 tires on my travel trailer. Can I put 215/75R14 tires on the 14X6inch rims?

yes, the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTR21514 is designed to fit a 6 inch wide rim. The larger tire is only going to add about half an inch to the overall diameter and the section width but you still want to make sure your trailer has enough clearance with the larger tire size.

Make sure you have at least 4-1/2 inches between the tire and the underside of the fender to keep them from coming into contact when going over bumps in the road. And there should be at least a couple of inches between the side wall of the tire and the inside of the wheel well. There really isn't a standard or regulation distance for this, but less than 2 inches would be cutting it close.
