Question:

re: tire chains, what does Assisted and Manual mean? And what chains are best for an 1995 f350 4x4 with 305/70-16 tires and a truck camper? Thanks

Automatic, assisted, and manual are how the chains adjust onto your tires. Some tire chains will adjust automatically once they are installed and require the least amount of maintenance. The assisted chains need to be adjusted, but they have cams or integrated pulls that make the adjusting fairly simple. Finally, chains that are manual adjusting are just that. You do all the work to get them into position and keep them there. Automatic chains are recommended if you're going to be using them regularly, manual for the occasional use, and assisted will fall somewhere in between.

For your 305/70-16 sized tires there are no automatic adjusting chains available. A heavy-duty set of chains that are assisted adjustment is the Titan Snow Chains with Cams # TC2828CAM. They're made from a low-carbon steel that is strong and durable. The studded twist links form cross chains, which creates strong traction and grips better on icy surfaces.
