Availability of Trailer Wiring in Different Connector Formats
Question:
Do you have a 7 way trailer pigtail connector that is 3 foot long and has an 6-8 way flat connector on it? This is for a 1990 Starcraft popup camper. Thanks.

We do offer both vehicle side 7-way sockets like # 37185 and trailer side 7-way plugs like the 4-foot # H20043 which work together and which are popular in the RV market. We also offer a wide range of trailer connector adapters that allow users to join vehicles with one type of connector to a trailer that has another type. There is no type of harness or adapter offered by etrailer that has an 8-pole configuration. Flat style connectors up to 5-poles are in use, and an example of an adapter that converts a vehicle 7-way to a trailer 5-pole flat is part # A75TB.
You may care to refer to the linked article on trailer wiring which includes photos and wiring diagrams for all of the types of trailer connectors in common use.
It is certainly possible to wire in a replacement trailer connector, or to completely change the style of connector on a trailer, by installing a junction box # 38656 as your point for joining the wiring. Ring terminals like # 44-5310A are used on the wire leads to connect to the posts in the junction box.
Please feel free to send a photo of the connectors you have and more information about what you're looking to accomplish and I will be glad to assist.
