How to Charge Trailer Battery with Tow Vehicle While Travelling
Question:
I wish to hook up a feed wire to charge my camp trailer battery while I drive to the campsite. I have a 2010 ford ranger . where do I hook up the wire on the truck? from the tailight or under the dash? I dont know plz advise thx

Expert Reply:
You would need to run a 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) from the positive post of your battery to the 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way and then on the trailer use the same circuit to run to the positive post of your trailer battery. You should note this will only really do a maintenance charge on a full size battery.
On the part # 37185 that you referenced the black wire of the adapter would be the one that would run to the battery of the Ranger.
