Hitch Rack for Elliptigo Arc Recumbent Bike on 2013 Toyota Prius V

Question:

I have a Prius V and an Elliptigo Arc bike. I will mount one of your 1 1/4inch hitches, but I want a rack that will support the bike frame in an upright, but diagonal position, thus keeping the bikes 6foot length within the confines of the narrower width of the Prius V. Thank you

The 1-1/4-inch hitch I recommend for your 2013 Toyota Prius V is Draw-Tite's Class I hitch # 24847. This hitch bolts on without drilling and offers a lower cost and freedom from the requirement to use a stabilizing strap, which is necessary for the Curt hitch # C11276.

We offer two bike racks for recumbent style bikes that will fit this hitch. Both are the platform style which carry a bike level. We do not offer any bike racks designed to suspend a bike diagonally.

The Elliptigo website does not specify the Arc's wheelbase or weight so you'll want to measure the distance between the two tires' contact points to confirm the best rack fit and make sure you select a rack with the appropriate weight capacity.

The Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack for 2 Recumbent Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64650-EXT handles bikes up to 35-lbs and wheelbases up to 69-inches.

The Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Recumbents Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # SA4412B-R handles bikes up to 35-lbs on a class I hitch that you would have and wheelbases up to 57-inches.
