Recommended Roof Mount Kayak Carrier For 2015 Toyota RAV4 With Factory Roof Rack
Question:
Im trying to determine the best solution for carrying my 14foot Mad River Adventure Canoe on a 2015 Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 has OE side rails and crossbars. When I attempt to carry my canoe on this OE carrier hull side up it slides around and isnt stable. Ive looked at crossbars and Rhino-Rack Nautic kayak/canoe carriers on your site. Im just not sure what is best solution and could use some advice. Thanks

Trying to just attach a kayak to the crossbars on your RAV4 can be a bit unstable as you mentioned. I do have a solution for you.
I recommend the Thule DockGrip, part # TH895. This system has 4 saddles that attach to the crossbars you have on your RAV4 roof. The system also comes with bow and stern tie-downs that help keep the kayak secure and keep it from sliding around. The carrier has a weight capacity of 85-lbs per kayak.
