Hitch and Wiring Bracket Compatibility on 2008 Honda Pilot
Question:
I have a 2008 Honda Pilot with the tow package installed. It has a 4 pin connector. I want to install the ETBC7 7-way Trailer Connector. I see from the instructional videos that I need to install part 18140 No Drill Mount Bracket. The video shows this mount bracket being attached to a square tube trailer hitch. My hitch is a round tube. Will this mount bracket work with a round tube hitch? Do you have another type of bracket for round hitches? Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the No-Drill Bracket # 18140 will work just fine on your round tube hitch as you install our # ETBC7 trailer brake controller installation kit. Just invert the 7-way so it is upside down. The kit includes everything you need to convert your factory 4-pole flat trailer connector to a 7-way type that includes 12V power and trailer brake signals.
I linked an install video for a 2007 Pilot, which is in the same vehicle generation as your 2008, and also an article on trailer wiring that you might find useful.
If you need a brake controller I recommend the Prodigy P2 # 90885 which is among the most popular and reliable such products available. An article on brake controllers is included too.
