How To Determine The Replacement Parts For Boat Trailer Hubs

Question:

I have a 1997 Yacht Club trailer made by Hawkeye, model WC108, and it also states WC112. It is a single axel GVWR 1150. Max Load 1100. The bearings are destroyed and I cannot get a number without taking apart the other side. The hub has 5 lugs and it looks like an axel of just over an inch. Is there a hub kit for this or a set of bearings, seals, etc. THANKS

Since there is no standard set of bearings for a trailer you will have to do one of two things. You can pull the opposite wheel and hub and check the bearings you have on that spindle. The numbers will typically be found stamped on the side of the bearings as shown in the attached photo.

If you cannot find the numbers you will need to use calipers like part # PTW80157 and take some measurements in the locations shown in the photo. You will also need to measure the inside bore of the hub on your trailer.

After getting either the numbers off the bearings or the measurements you can let me know and I will be glad to make recommendations that will work for you. We always recommend replacing parts on both sides of the trailer to make sure everything is operating evenly and working.
