Recommended Wiring Harness for 2005 Ford Escape Towing a Trailer with Lights

Where does the trailer light relay go under the dash for a 2005 ford escape and what kind of relay is it

It sounds like you are trying to install a 7-way onto your 2005 Ford Escape. I have a solution for you but the # 118243 you were looking at is not a confirmed fit for your vehicle.
For your 2005 Ford Escape, if you do not have the tow package you will need the # 118426 and # ETBC7 to adapt your 4-way to the 7-way connector. I have linked an installation video of the Tow Ready harness to this page for you to check out.
If you do have the tow package on your Escape you will need # 40455 to replace the factory 4-way and the # ETBC7 to adapt it to a 7-way as well. I have linked an installation video for you to check out of the Hopkins harness.
