Troubleshooting Jeep Cherokee Turn Signals that Stop Working When Brakes Apply while Flat Towing

Question:

I installed an air force 1 for my Jeep Cherokee. The brake lights do work with the ignition off. The problem I have is the brake lights and turn signals work fine except for when you apply the brake in the motorhome while the turn signal is on and the turn signals quit working on the Jeep. The RV dealer who is very good has had this same problem for 2 years now and cant come up with a solution. Jeep cant help except to tell me the problem exists in the body module. Can you help Thanks

Since your brake lights don't come on in your Jeep Cherokee when the ignition is off (and I am assuming you are flat towing with the ignition off) then you wouldn't need a brake light relay like part # RM-88400 as this is normally the fix for this problem. Now if you do flat tow your vehicle with the key in the on position and that does activate the brake lights then you would need the relay.

You didn't mention what type of wiring/lighting you are using either and that is a big factor in this as well. A simple solution is also to just go with magnetic tow lights like the part # TL21RK as this bypasses the factory taillights of the Jeep. I attached a review video for this as well.

Email back with more info on the style of lighting you have and I can try and get you a better solution if needed.
