Replacement Tires, Wheels and Hubs for Light-Duty Boat Trailer

Question:

Hoping you can help me the proper parts for my light duty boat trailer. Current wheels are single nut hubs and the tires are more then shot. I was thinking of replacing it all with new 4-4 wheels, tires, and hubs. The Spindles on this trailer are straight and .99inch diam. with 1.25inch seal. The spindles are 3.95inch long, the un-threaded portion is 2.7. The current tires are 4.80/4.00 x 8 and about 15.5inch tall. Hi Speed, 6 ply There are no fenders or anything in the way so I could go bigger/wider if need be. Feel free to let me know if you need anymore details and I will do what I can to help, other wise thank you for your help!

If you prefer to just replace your tires we do offer your tire size 4.80/4.00-8. You can see both such bias ply tire options by clicking on the link provided. We offer both Load Range B and Load Range C tires, parts # AM10002 and # AM10004.

If you prefer to change out your hubs and wheels too, we can also help you with that process. Do note that doing this will not increase your trailer's weight capacity. That remains as determined by the trailer manufacturer.

You can see 4-on-4 idler hubs on the linked page, for example, part # AKIHUB-440-2-1K. This hub measures 4-inches overall depth and it uses inner and outer bearing L44643, which has a 1.0-inch inner diameter, and grease seal 34823 which has a 1.249-inch inner diameter. These dimensions match your spindles.
