Options for Carrying Cargo on Roof of 2012 Subaru Legacy

Question:

I have a 2012 subaru legacy. The roof is naked, however I do have a black molding steip that runs the length of my roof. Will I still be able to attach the sport rack to my roofriends? Also, will it be ok for me to use a hard shell cargo box on this rack? Or would I be better off to order a basket or a bag to use with this rack? I also see you carry a naked roof bag that sits directly on the car roof and clips inside the car without having to attach to a rack. Would you recommend that? That are the pros and cons of one of those bags?

Expert Reply:

We sell cargo bags that attach to vehicles with naked roofs. This is a great solution for people who don't need to carry cargo on the roof all of the time but still want an economical option that allows this. For you size vehicle the part # RL100S50 would be your best option for this.

If you plan to use the bag/box frequently the part # SR1010 is a confirmed fit that would work well. And then for a great cargo box that isn't quite as expensive as the others the SportRack Horizon part # SR7011 would be a great option.

The roof rack attaches to the door sill and would not use the rubber strip you see on the roof of your vehicle.
