Fit of Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch 24805 on 2008 Ford Focus
Question:
Hello, I am interested in product # 24805, the hitch for a 2008 Ford Focus. Before I get it I would like to know if it fits on the coup model or only the sedan. Also, I planned on using it to pull a 5x9foot trailer with a motorcycle on the highway. Will it be able to handle this, or is it only for smaller applications? Thank you in advance

The Draw-Tite Class I hitch you referenced, part # 24805 is a fit for both the coupe and the sedan models of the 2008 Ford Focus. The hitch has a 2000 lb towing/ 200 lb tongue weight capacity (tongue weight is the amount of weight pushing down on the trailer ball). This capacity could be limited by the towing capacity of your Focus, if it's less than 2000 lbs.
Check your owner's manual or with your Ford dealer for the towing capacity of your Focus.
To complete your towing set-up, you'll need trailer wiring, a ball mount and a trailer ball. For wiring, I'd recommend the # 118457 from Tow Ready. For a ball mount, use part # 3593 and for a ball use # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.
I've linked you to install videos for the hitch an the trailer wiring. You can see them by clicking the provided links.
