Recommended Brake Controller For 1995 International With Air Brakes Towing EOH Trailer
Question:
Please let me know if the HA100400C is compatible with the dexter electric hydraulic trailer brake actuator? If not what do I need to make my 1995 International 4900 with airbrakes compatible with the dexter electric hydraulic brake actuator? Thanks,

The best option I can recommend for you is to use an electronic brake controller that will work with your electric over hydraulic brakes on your trailer. You said your International has air brakes but there is still a brake circuit that activates the brake lights on your truck so you can use that circuit to activate the brake controller.
Part # HA100400C can power electric brakes and is also compatible with electric over hydraulic actuators. It is ideal for your application. If you want a more standard brake controller that won't utilize your air line but will require a brake light switch connection, I recommend using the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195 that will work great with electric over hydraulic brakes. This is one of our most popular because it is easy to set up and operate.
To install the # 90195 you will need to do some hard wiring on your International. You will need to connect the white wire to the negative battery post on your truck. Then connect the black wire to the positive battery post using a 30-amp circuit breaker like part # PK54530 inline.
Then you will need a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and find the cold side of the stop light switch that is located at the top of the brake pedal. This is the side that only shows power when the brake pedal is presses.
Finally you can run the blue wire from the brake controller to the 7-way connector at the rear of the truck. You will need additional wire and you can use part # 10-1-1.
