Fit and Compatibility of MaxxTow Carrier with a 2009 Yamaha Zuma 125 with a 2012 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Hi. I bought a hitch for my 2012 sienna minivan from you guys about a month ago. Just wondering if this carrier will work for that particular application? Its a class III hitch on a sienna minivan. I will be calling a 2009 Yamaha Zuma 125. I am concerned about clearance between the scooter and the rear of the minivan. Please advise.

Great news! The etrailer carrier # e98873 you were looking at will be a good fit for your 2012 Toyota Sienna and Yamaha Zuma 125.
I was able to look up your 2009 Yamaha Zuma 125 and found that the overall width was 30.1 inches, assuming this is the handle bar spread, the etrailer # e98873 will give you the clearance necessary to be compatible with your Sienna. What we know about the Curt hitch # C13105 you purchased earlier is that it requires a bumper clearance of 5-1/2 inches for your 2012 Toyota Sienna. Next we know that the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the bike carrier mounting point is 28-7/8 inches - 5-1/2 inches for bumper clearance puts the mounting point at 19 inches from your Sienna. Which only half (15.05 inches) of the handlebar distance will be extended towards your Sienna.
A great set of ratchets to secure your Zuma to the carrier are the Erickson # EM05729.
I have linked all the above mentioned products to this page for your convenience.
