5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Ram 2500 Short Bed Diesel

we just purchased a 2015 Dodge 2500 diesel with the 6.4 foot bed and want to pull our 28 foot, 8000lb dry weight 5th wheel. What is the best slider hitch for us? Thanks for your response!

For your 2015 Ram 2500 short bed I recommend a Demco HiJacker hitch because they offer the most travel and they slide automatically so you won't have to get out of the truck. If your Ram does not have the factory 5th wheel prep package then you will first need an installation kit.

For a custom fit installation kit use # DM8552025-71. Custom kits are awesome because they require much less drilling than universal kits. Then you can mount HiJacker # DM8550034.

If your truck does have the factory prep package then installed of the installation kit mentioned above you would need # DM6099 to mount the hitch.

And to add a 7-Way trailer connector in the bed of the truck to make hooking up easier you can use # PK11893-11932.
