Recommended Cargo Carrier for Yamaha Zuma 125

Question:

I have a 2008 Pleasure Way Lexor Van, currently I have attached with extension a Stowaway2 wt limit 200lbs. I bought a 2009 125 Yamaha Zuma and want to put it in a carrier inplace of the stowaway. What is the best carrier model that will use a ramp and clear my rear attached spare tire? I read one of you answers and from the cntr of hitch pin back - 20 would clear the spare tire.

The Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike carrier, part # UF48-979033, would work great for your Zuma 125 with the following provisions:

The carrier itself will have no problem accommodating the approximate 200 lb weight of the scooter, but you will need to be sure that the 2 inch receiver on the van has enough tongue weight capacity to handle the weight of the scooter plus the 58 lb weight of the carrier. Your hitch should have a sticker that lists its tongue weight capacity.

The carrier will handle tire widths of up to 5 inches. You will need to check the width of the tires on the scooter.

As you stated, the distance from the hitch pin hole to the CENTER of the ramp is 19 inches. I believe this should clear your spare with no problem whatsoever, but you might want to take a quick measurement to make sure.
