If your 2010 Chevy Tahoe has a factory tow package with the factory 7-Way trailer connector, all you will need is the Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller, # 90885.
In 2007, General Motors quit offering the brake controller plug under the dash, but the wires that are needed are already run. You only need to splice the brake controller wires to the wires under the dash. The wires needed are tucked up under the dash, to the right of the emergency brake, held together with white tape.
The wire colors could be, but not always: Red/Black - connects to the black wire on the brake controller. White - connects to white on the brake controller. Light Blue/White - connects to red on the brake controller. Dark blue - connects to the blue wire on the brake controller. If you also see an orange wire, it is not needed.
There are also two wires under the hood that need to be connected to make the tow package functional. I am sending a link to information on installing your brake controller on your 2010 Chevy Tahoe, which will show in detail everything you will need to do. I also am sending a video link that shows a Tekonsha brake controller being installed on a 2009 Chevy Silverado.
If your truck does not have the factory 7-Way trailer connector at the rear of your truck, you will also need to use the Hopkins Trailer Connector, # 30955. This will fit into the existing cut out on your rear bumper and plug into the connector attached to the factory knockout plug located above the spare tire. Then, you will wire the brake controller as mentioned before.
I am sending a video link of the Hopkins connector being installed on a 2007 Chevy Silverado.
