What is Purpose of Rear Attachment Bracket for Curt Hitch C13173
Question:
What is the purpose of the B strap that connects the main part of the hitch to the vehicle sub-frame??? As this sub-frame appears to be mounted with rubber bushings or isolaters, it would seem that the sub-frame is subject to movement, which would in turn allow twisting or flexing the main part of the hitch???

Basically every attachment point on the Curt Hitch part # C13173 is designed to help secure it to the vehicle. The rear section of the hitch that actually mounts closest to the front of the vehicle is designed to provide additional support and strength to the hitch setup. Even though the sub-frame has rubber bushings where it attaches the hitch is still supported by attaching to that section of the vehicle. It wouldn't move or twist as the other brackets of the hitch will keep it secured and free of movement.
You may notice that your vehicle feels a bit more stiff or braced after the hitch install since the hitch basically goes and braces the frame sections of the vehicle. People who want to have their vehicles handle better will install sub-frame connectors to provide a similar effect as this.
