Sea Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon Factory Crossbars

With the roof rack and cross bars on the 2015 Subaru outback, we are looking for a carrier that can accommodate 2 sea kayaks. They are 16 feel 6 inches long, with a beam of 25 inches and depth of 14 inches. One weighs 38 pounds and the other 34 so we are within the weight limits for the carrier. Back in the days of carriers that clamped on door sills, we had a carrier with two cradles. The kayaks would sit hull down just like they would be in the water. We would welcome your advise about what to choose in a carrier. Thank you.

For a kayak carrier that is designed to work with 16 foot long kayaks the Yakima JayLow # Y04073 would be a great option that is also confirmed to fit the factory crossbars of your 2015 Subaru Outback wagon.

The # TH830 can only be used on kayaks less than 10 feet in length.

I attached an install video for the Hull-A-Port for you to check out as well. This is a J-style kayak that holds them at an angle which makes loading easier than carriers that carry the kayaks facing up.
