2-Inch Hitch for 2004 Dodge Sprinter with 140-Inch Wheelbase for Use with Hitch Bike Rack

Question:

Hello- Im curious if this hitch can be used with a step bumper. I pretty much going to use it for a bicycle rack. Thanks

For use with a 2-inch hitch bike carrier I recommend the Curt Class III hitch # 13250 as it is a confirmed fit on your 2004 Dodge Sprinter with step bumper and 140-inch wheelbase. Class IV hitch # 14250 fits your van too but for use with a bike rack you will not need this hitch's 1000-lb tongue weight (TW) capacity, so the Curt # 13250, rated for 600-lbs TW, will be a great choice that actually costs you less.

The linked photo shows you the appearance of the hitch and step bumper after installation and an installation video shows this hitch being installed on your same Sprinter.

In case you're still considering your choice of bike rack, you might want to note that many of our customers that drive Sprinters choose swing-away hitch racks like the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack # Y02465 which allows access to the Sprinter's rear cargo area. You can refer to the video to see more on this rack.
