Hitch Extender Recommendation for a Jeep Wrangler for Bike Rack to Clear Spare

Question:

I need a hitch extender for my 15 Jeep Wrangler so I can use my bike carrier. My Jeep is lifted and has a 35x12.5 spare tire mounted. How much of a hitch extender would I need? Thanks.

For most Jeep Wrangler applications the Brophy Hitch Extender part # HE06 which provides 7-5/8 inches of additional length to the hitch would work well. I attached a review video that shows it being used in a similar Wrangler as yours. You should note that using a hitch extender will cut the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent.

For an 8 inch extender we have the Curt part # C45791.

How long of an extender you would need will depend on how much clearance your bike rack would require. But most likely either of the extenders I mentioned would work well.
