Recommended Light Weight Platform Style Hitch Bike Rack for a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg

Question:

I have an 2005 VW Touareg and looking for a platform style hitch bike rack that is easy for a woman to lift, handle, install and remove? do you suggest the swagman XTC 2 bike model? I wont need to haul it that much, but tired of getting it in and out of the back of my suv! This is also why I dont want to spend a fortune on a bike rack that wont be needed that much.

The Swagman XTC-2 # S64650 is a great priced platform style bike rack and will fit either a 2 inch or 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver. The Swagman rack will weight about 30lbs total and folds up for easier removal and storage, which makes it very easy to do by yourself.

If you are transporting alternative framed bikes, like many women's bikes are, you will need the use of a bike adapter bar like the Swagman # 64005 for the bike to mount properly.

The Swagman XTC-2 does not include any locks so if you would like to lock your bike to the rack and the rack to the vehicle for added security you will want the Swagman # S64031.
