How To Install A Curt Hitch and A Brake Controller On A 2010 Cadillac SRX
Question:
I have a 2010 Cadillac SRX and want to install a Curt hitch Class III and a brake controller. Do you have instructions on how to install the brake controller? If so, I will order everything from you. I am concerned about installing the brake controller wiring. The hitch looks easy.

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13002, is the hitch for your 2010 Cadillac SRX. It is a 2 inch hitch with a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs.
For towing you will also need the Curt Ball Mounts, # C45010, the Pin and Clip, # PC3. The hitch ball will be either the Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, # 19247, or the Tow Ready 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, # 19260.
You will need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 56096, to give you a 4-pole flat trailer connector at the rear of your vehicle.
It plugs into the factory connector which will be located by removing the bumper fascia panel. Start by removing the two phillips head screws holding it in place. Behind the fascia panel and above the bumper cross beam is where the factory harness plug is located. You will remove the dust cap on the plug and insert the T-Connector.
A brake controller I would recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885. This is one of our top rated controllers that can be mounted in a 360 degree vertical range and levels it self automatically.
You will need to hardwire the brake controller with the Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 kit includes everything necessary for installing your brake controller, the 7-Way connector, all needed wire, circuit breakers, even the zip ties for a neat installation.
I am sending a link to the Brake Controller Installation page that will have the instructions on how to wire the # ETBC7 kit to your vehicle.
I am also sending a video link to the # ETBC7 kit being installed on a 2009 Honda Odyssey. It is a different vehicle but it is the same wiring principle.
