Recommended Torklift Complete Setup for a 2016 Ram 3500 with Eagle Cap 1165 Truck Bed Camper

Question:

I need to know just what I need to get set up with a torklift complete setup to go on a new 2016 Ram one ton truck and reach behind a Eagle Cap 1165 truck camper. The camper dealer suggested 48. it is an 8’ dual wheel (I suspect 4x4) diesel and I don’t know anything about any step other than the probable step where the license plate goes. It does have a factory hitch. I will not know until around the 20th or possibly later which precise Ram we will wind up with. If I understand correctly, this is simply a bolt on installation. Yes?

I can help you outfit your 2016 Ram 3500 with a complete Torklift setup.

First thing you will need for your 8 foot bed with factory hitch, is the Torklift hitch # TLD1108, this will give you a second 2 inch receiver on your truck and will allow you to mount the 48 inch SuperTruss hitch extension # TLE1548 to reach behind your Eagle Cap Truck Bed Camper. This hitch is a bolt on application that requires no drilling and will work in combination with your factory hitch. I have linked the instructions for you to check out.

For camper tie-downs, since you aren't sure which truck you will end up with I will list both styles for your convenience. The 8 foot bed with dual rear wheels and 4WD without running boards or a step underneath the truck bed with a factory hitch you will need the Torklift Tie-downs # TLD2124A & # TLD3109A. This will include the front and back tie-downs which have aluminum arms. On dually applications the rear camper anchor point location may require the use of the anchor relocation kit # TLA7004.

If your 8 foot bed ends up coming with running boards or a step underneath the truck bed you will have the option of either the steel arm tie-downs # TLD2127 & # TLD3109 or the aluminum arms # TLD2127A & # TLD3109A. These sets may also need the rear camper anchor point location # TLA7004 on dually applications. I have linked all the instructions to the camper tie-downs as well to this page for you to look at how they will install.

The last item you will need to secure your camper to your truck is the Torklift Turnbuckles. I recommend the Locking FastGun Stainless Steel # TLS9526-2-LK turnbuckles. With these FastGun turnbuckles you won't have to manually tighten them like standard turnbuckles.

I have linked all the above mentioned products to this page for your convenience.
