Recommended Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System for Jayco White Hawk 24MB Travel Trailer
Question:
Hello, We are looking at purchasing a Jayco White Hawk 24MB 27ft, 5560 with 600 hitch. We drive a 2015 Tundra crewmax. Will the Strait-Line Weight Distribution with Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW work with this trailer? We are looking for both weight dist. And sway control. Thank you

The first step to choosing a weight distribution system is to identify the fully loaded and ready to tow weight of your trailer (as opposed to the dry weight). The weight of any cargo carried in the truck bed behind the rear axle should also be included in the tongue weight figure. I'll link you to an FAQ article that explains how to find your trailer tongue weight.
The Reese Strait-Line is an excellent choice, it's one of the most effective weight distribution/anti-sway systems we offer because it'll stop trailer sway before it can begin. The # RP66083 Strait-Line system you asked about would work well if the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight is in the 400-800 lb range (which it should be). From the numbers you provided, this system would be a good solution.
If for some reason the fully loaded tongue weight is greater than 700 lbs, I'd recommend going with the next highest rated system, part # RP66084 which is designed for trailer tongue weights from 600 to 1200 lbs.
Either system includes the weight distributing shank, but the properly rated trailer ball is sold separately. For a 2 inch ball use # A-90 or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
