Fit and Compatibility of etrailer.com Axle Tek Electric Brakes on a Dexter Axle

Question:

Hi, I think Ive found my answer in your QandA but! My trailer, built in 2001, has a 3500 Dexter axle w/ standard non-self adjusting break assembly... My shoes are worn but drum and bearings are fine... However, rather than simply getting new shoes, I am interested in installing your AKEBRK-35L and of course R-SA assemblies... My axle is Dexter P-29, model SLR with 10 x 2 1/4inch shoes... My question is, can I install your AKEBRK**** assemblies without also needing to purchase new drums and bearings to replace the good ones I already have, that would then be pretty much good condition paper weights... Thank you in advance...

Great news! You are correct, the # AKEBRK-35L-SA and # AKEBRK-35R-SA will fit great on your Dexter P-29, model SLR with 10 x 2 1/4 inch shoes and not require you to purchase a new drums or bearings.

I have linked an installation video of these brakes being installed on a trailer for you to check out.
