Sidewinder Recommendation to Allow a 2013 Ram 2500 with Rambox to Tow Fifth Wheel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2013, 2500 Dodge Ram diesel w/mega cab and ram box. Are there any new products that will accommodate a 5th wheel hitch set up? I currently have to pull my 36 ft Montana 5th wheel using a goose-neck set up. Thanks.

We have heard customers who have installed 5th wheel hitches in Rambox models. But they have to use Sidewinder replacement pin boxes to move the trailer pivot point up above the bed rails so as not to hit the stock pin box against the bed sides. I have linked the Sidewinder information page to the right.
You would have to replace the pin box of your trailer with the Sidewinder. If you can find out the pin box model you have at the chart that is at the attached link you will be able to determine which Sidewinder you would need.
Then you could install a stationary fifth wheel hitch like the Reese part # RP30047 which would work well. Now for a rail kit the custom outboard kit part # RP56011-53 would be the easiest to install and would minimize drilling.
