72 inch Long Trailer Axle Recommendation with 2,200 lb Capacity that can Fit 14 inch Wheels

Question:

Why does this axle accept 13-15inch rims whereas another axle/rotor kit with greater capacity 20545I-EZ-72-10 only accepts 8-12inch rims? I would like the extra 200lbs of capacity but also want to use the new axle with 14inch rims. I wouldnt mind going up to a 3500lb capacity axle but my between-spring distance is 58inch and I cant find an axle meeting that criteria on this site and Id like to keep shopping with you. As always thank you, Ive always been happy when working with you guys.

The difference is the mounting flange on the hubs. Axles that have larger mounting flanges like the part # 20545I-EZ-72-15 can fit the larger wheels, whereas the # 20545I-EZ-72-10 has a small flange that doesn't match up to the bigger wheels.

What you would want to do is go with the axle part # T20BTR-EZ-7258 that does not have hubs with it and then use the hubs # 8-258-50UC1-EZ that has the larger mounting flange on it and will give you the 2,200 lbs capacity you want in the correct size.
