Brake Controller and 7-way Adapter Wiring Recommendation for a 2011 Toyota Venza
Question:
Im looking for a brake controller for my 2011 Toyota Venza and just want to confirm that the Tekonsha P2 90885 will do. I have a 4 pin plug in the back so would I also need your adaptor #37185 4 pole to 7 pole. Would I need anything else? Thanks

Yes, the Tekonsha P2 # 90885 is a great brake controller for your 2011 Toyota Venza.
I would instead recommend the # ETBC7 kit over the Hopkins # 37185, because it includes all the parts you will need like circuit breakers, wires, butt connectors, ring terminals, and even a circuit tester included to install the 7-way on your Venza. If you decide to go with the Hopkins adapter then I recommend the 10-gauge wire like # 10-1-1, butt connectors like # 05732-2, ring terminals like # DW05741-1, a circuit tester like # PTW2993, and a circuit breaker like the 30 amp # 38630. The correct Amp will depend on your brake controller and your trailer's needs. For the P2 you will use a 20-Amp circuit breaker for 2- to 4-brake applications and a 30-Amp circuit breaker for 6- to 8-brake applications.
I have linked a few help articles as well as an installation video of the # ETBC7 being installed on a different vehicle for you to get an idea of the install.
