Recommended Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Chevy Malibu 2LT
Question:
Hello, I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu 2LT, I purchased it in Cincinnati, OH so it should be US made. Are the following part numbers correct for this car? Trailer Hitch: C12115 Wiring Harness: C56176 What is the difference between C56176 and C118576 wiring harnesses?

The Curt CIass II hitch you mentioned, part # C12115 is indeed a fit for your 2014 Chevy Malibu. If you're planning on using the hitch exclusively for towing, the hitch would work just fine for you. However, if you also plan on using the hitch as an attachment point for hitch mounted accessories like a bike rack or a cargo carrier, I'd recommend you go with the Draw-Tite Class II, part # 36538.
Curt's warranty stipulates that a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 needs to be used for any non trailer loads. I prefer the Draw-Tite because it doesn't have that stipulation.
For trailer wiring, I'd recommend the Tow Ready # 118576. This harness will perform the same function as the # C56176, but in my experience, I've found the Tow Ready harnesses to be more reliable in the long run.
