Firestone Air Suspension Recommendation for a 2002 Ford F-250 with Curt Fifth Rail Kits
Question:
Good Morning, I have a 2002 ford F250 SRW with a fifth wheel hitch. The Hitch is a curt 16K with universal Curt rails and brackets 10 bolt. I would like to purchase airbags by ride rite. All I find on line for use with fifth wheel is part #2550 which mounts inside the frame. Is there one that mounts on the outside of the frame?

Expert Reply:
Firestone has confirmed the fit of their Ride Rite kit part # F2550 for your 2002 Ford F-250 and they also state that the kit should fit just fine with a fifth wheel rail kit.
The Curt rail kit recommended for your truck is the part # C16443-204 which installs on the outside of the frame rails and would be compatible with the # F2550.
If you have a universal kit the brackets should be L-brackets that would fit around the # F2550.
For a 7-way to install in the bed of your truck to make connecting your trailer lights easier you would want the part # 41157. Most 7-ways will be at the rear of the truck near the bumper which doesn't work will with fifth wheel hitches.
