Question:

Can you recommend a light bar to use inside a 22 foot enclosed snowmobile trailer ? The interior height is only 54 inch high. I would like to illuminate the entire trailer, preferably with LED. Thanks

I can help you with lighting up your enclosed snowmobile trailer.

I would recommend the Optronics Opti-Brite # ILL08COB. This light produces 1400 Lumens so it would be very bright. The dimensions of the lens of this light are 4 by 16-1/2 inches. If you wanted more of a bar light I would recommend the Optronics Thinline Opti-Brite LED # ILL72CB, this light has 27 diodes and puts out 513 effective lumens. This light measures 21-7/8 inches long by 1 inch wide by 5/8 inches thick.

Watts measure the amount of energy required to light products. Lumens measure the amount of light produced. The more lumens in a light bulb, the brighter the light. Depending on what light you decide to go with and how bright you would like your trailer to be, you may want to get more than one light for your 22 foot trailer.

I can also help you wire the interior light or lights to a switch in your enclosed trailer.

First, you would want to get an auxiliary battery. Next we would want to run all the interior lights power wires to a switch, like the Pollack # PK34513, using a 10 or 12 gauge wire, like Deka's # 10-1-1, ending the wire at the battery's positive terminal. To connect them to the power wire you will need to use quick splices # SWC501915-1and butt connectors # 05732-2 and a ring terminals # DW05741-1 on the end, we have all these on our site from Deka, for you convenience.

After connecting and running the power wire to the battery, we will need to ground all the lights ground wires to the trailer frame or to the negative battery post. We also need to ground the battery negative terminal to the trailer frame. I would recommend using a battery box like this one from Deka # DW03188 to secure your battery inside of and allows you to mount it to the trailer.

If you want your vehicle to maintain a charge on the auxiliary battery, you can run another power wire from the positive battery post to the 7 way plug on your trailer.

I've attached an image for you to have a visual for your convenience.
