Parts Needed to Install Electric Brake Controller on 2015 Nissan Quest
Question:
Good Afternoon, Looking to purchase Part Numbers: 39523 for my 2015 Nissan Quest. I already purchased the 4 pin setup from etrailer and have it installed. What additional wiring package/ accessories will I need to complete the installation of the brake controller? Thanks for your help.

To install a brake controller like the Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller # 39523, you will need something like Universal Wiring Harness # 20127 and our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
Thank you for previously purchasing your 4-Pole trailer connector from etrailer.com. The # ETBC7 includes a 4- and 7-Way trailer connector that will install into the 4-Pole connector already on your 2015 Nissan Quest. The hardware and wiring needed to make the additional connections are included in the installation kit. I have attached the installation instructions for the ETBC7 kit for you, a help article on installing a brake controller from scratch, and an installation video of the ETBC7 kit with a similar brake controller on a 2009 Murano.
The # 39523 brake controller will work fine for you, but I recommend using a brake controller that will apply the trailer's brakes in proportional to the vehicle's brakes, like the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160. This proportional brake controller will also activate the trailer's brakes immediately, resulting in uniform breaking across the towing setup. I have attached an installation video of this brake controller for you. The # ETBC7 kit will be needed to install this brake controller as well.
