Trailer Hitch with Best Ground Clearance and Trailer Wiring for a 2008 Toyota RAV4

Im seeking the most ground clearance from a hitch for my 2008 Rav4. Would a class two offer more ground clearance and if so which brand, model.

Expert Reply:
A Class II trailer hitch can offer slightly more ground clearance compared to a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver for your 2008 Toyota RAV4.
But looking at the available options for your vehicle I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C12108 which is a Class II hitch. From the ground to the top of the receiver opening measures approximately 13 inches. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
For the appropriate ball mount use # 36051 if you want to do some towing. For a 1-7/8 inch ball I recommend # 19256 and for a 2 inch # 19258. For trailer wiring I recommend # 118412 to add a 4-Way flat to the back of the vehicle. I have linked a video showing an installation of the wiring harness as well.
