Which Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System for 7500 GVWR Travel Trailer

Question:

I am purchasing a new travel trailer that has a 835 lbs hitch weight and 5700 empty with a weight of 7500 lbs full. We are getting the Reese strait line wd but not sure if the 800 lbs will suffice or do we need to go up to the 1200? The max hitch weight is 1050 lbs. Which one would be best?

With an empty tongue weight at 835 and a maximum full tongue weight of 1050, you'll want to go with the higher-rated # RP66084, which is designed for trailer tongue weights ranging from 600-1200 lbs. This system would be perfect for your needs. The height adjustable shank is included, but the 2-5/16 inch ball, part # 19286 is sold separately.

The # RP66083 has an effective tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs. This system would be overloaded before you began adding gear to your travel trailer.
