Recommended Adapter for Curt R20 with A20 on 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty 8ft Bed with Factory Rails

Question:

we currently have a Curt R20 Roller with Curt A20 5th Wheel in our 2007 F250 King Ranch. We are trading trucks to a 2016 F350 King Ranch Dual with pre drilled tow in the bed. We have been told we need a new 5th wheel set up because the one we have will not fit. Ours is only 1 1/2 old. Is there a way we can make this fit or be able to just get a hitch bar that fits and still use the 5th wheel head. Thanks for your help

Great news! I can help you use your Curt R20 and Curt A20 in your new 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty.

You will just need the Reese Frame Adapter # RP30156. This frame adapter will mount into your F-350's factory underbed puck system and will act as an above the bed rail system. Then you will simply mount your A20 # C16541 into the rail adapter. I have linked a video install of a similar hitch being mounted into the frame adapter for your convenience.

It's important to note that since you will now have an 8 foot bed this will give you plenty of turning clearance and you will not need the sliding feature of your R20. I recommend leaving it locked in the forward position, which is closest to the cab, when towing.

If you are also looking to run your factory wiring harness into your truck bed, I recommend the Draw-Tite # 20110.
