Suggestions To Help Reduce Sway For Trailer While On Trip

Question:

In the middle of our 2week trip with our new 32foot v lite to. I am using a blue ox and experiencing severe sway. Basically very little control. Called blue ox just to make sure everything is installed correctlysent pics and they said it was. Did not know why Im having trouble. Would the Reese dual cam startling with sway control perform better?

Sway can be caused by a couple different things. One thing that you can do to try and help is to remove some weight from the back of the trailer and move it forward, giving you more tongue weight. Also, make sure your tires are properly inflated. I have attached a helpful article about weight distribution and sway control you can check out.

Another thing that can cause sway is the spring bar tension. Since you said you spoke with Blue Ox about your system and they told you it is set up properly, that may not be the problem. These fixes may help with your trailer but I recommend checking the trailer when it is fully loaded when you get home to make sure the weight distribution system you have is sufficient to handle the job.

When you check your system out and if you decide you want to replace it, let us know here at etrailer.com and we would be happy to recommend a system that will work best for you.
