Rooftop Cargo Box that Allows Rear Hatch to Open on a 2015 Lexus RX 350 with Factory Roof Rack
Question:
Hello. Based on Thules handy dimension table, Ive realized that there arent any Thule rooftop cargo boxes that will fit my 2015 Lexus RX 350 with factory installed crossbars. Other than Thule, what are my rooftop options for this vehicle? My spacing between the crossbars is about 20 inches, with 45 inches of front clearance. Thanks very much

I checked with Thule and they do list cargo boxes that will fit the factory roof rack on your 2015 Lexus RX 350 with factory crossbars. It would appear that the factory crossbars can be slid forward and back along a track on the inboard sides of the side rails. If you spread the bars out then a loaded box will be more stable. Also, if you slide the front bar as far forward as it will go that might give you a couple of more inches for hatch clearance.
But if 45 inches is the most then there is a Yakima box you can use. It's the RocketBox Pro 14, # Y07192. The Pro 14 only needs 45 inches.
