Honda states that the Honda Fit should not be flat towed, however, it is possible and there are many people that flat tow their Honda Fits. According to our flat towing authority, to be able to flat tow your Fit, you will want to follow the emergency towing instructions found in the owners manual. Honda lists specific procedures and restrictions, so it's important to follow those procedures and restrictions. If any damage were to occur due to flat towing, the warranty would be voided by Honda.

If you choose to flat tow your Fit, there are 5 main components that you will need to flat tow. You will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, tail light kit and a supplemental braking system.

The Blue Ox Base Plates, part # BX2252 are designed to fit your Fit, but you would need the adapter to use your Falcon 2 tow bar. If the adapter you have is BX88152, it cannot be used with this base plate kit.

My recommendation for a base plate kit, is the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, part # 521558-1. This would eliminate the need for the adapter. The EZ base plates are compatible with all Roadmaster tow bars.

The safety cables I recommend are part # RM-643.

The light wiring harness I recommend is the Roadmaster 6-Diode Universal Wiring Kit, part # 154-792-118158. This harness will be permanently installed on your Fit.

since most states now require a supplemental braking system I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake, part # RM-8700. The installation should be done by a qualified mechanic as the installation is pretty involved.

A supplemental brake system that has a simpler installation I recommend is part # RM-9400.

I have attached some helpful articles about flat-towing you can check out.
