I just called my contact at Demco and if your fifth wheel trailer weighs 13,000-lbs or less, we have a fifth wheel setup that will work for you. You would need part # DM8550040. This is the Demco Autoslide and it has 22-1/2 inches of travel, which will work great for 5-1/2 and 6-ft truck beds.

The Hijacker SL Series fifth wheel like part # DM6076SL-16K, does not give you enough travel with a 5-1/2 ft truck bed. The DM6076SL-16K has 8-inches of travel.

The above-bed rails and under-bed brackets installation kit you would need is part # DM8552020-71.

If your fifth wheel trailer weighs more than 13K you will need to install a Sidewinder pin box on your trailer.

If you let me know what pin box you have on your trailer I will be glad to see if we have a Sidewinder available that works. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure to find the correct Sidewinder pin box for a trailer.

I have attached a link to our product page of the fifth wheel hitches we offer that are designed to work with your truck. All of the hitches in the link are stationary hitches because a slider hitch will not give you enough clearance. You can install a slider hitch but you would need to lock the hitch in the forward position so that it does not interfere with the pivoting action provided by the Sidewinder.
