Tire Cable Chain Fit for 2011 Volkswagen Touareg
Question:
Hello, I’m looking for an emergency tire chain for my 2011 VW Touareg, tire size 265/50-19” . As a SoCal resident, I will only need the chains if the CHP determine they are needed on the local mountains. I believe Glacier Chains PW2029C with tensioner PW99, should suffice. Can you confirm these will fit and if not can you recomened an alternate low profile option? Many thanks Neil Lokuge

The Pewag tire cable chains you referenced, part # PW2029C is indeed a fit for your 265/50-19 tires. Although the # PW99 adjusters you mentioned would work, I prefer the # TCMA2 adjusters, because they're more substantial and would last longer.
The # PW2029C chains would be ideal for emergency use. However, before attempting to install the cable chains, check your owner's manual and be sure to abide by any recommendations or prohibitions VW offers regarding chain usage. When you receive the chains, I'd recommend practicing installing the chains in your driveway or garage so if the time comes, you'll be familiar with the installation.
