Recommended Fifth Wheel Hitch For 2001 Ford F-350 With Gooseneck Hitch In Bed

Question:

I have a 2001 f350 and I installed the converter ball adapter on my 36ft keystone toyhauler. I also have the morrydy pinbox on my toyhauler, which I installed the morryd adapter plate for use of the converter ball adapter that Im using now. I have a lot of what they call chucking and bouncing now. I removed the adapter and made sure the collar was on correctly and checked all the bolts and that was ok. The trailer is level when hooked up and is not loaded incorrectly. So is this a problem that happens when trying to use an adapter on a fifth wheel trailer. And should I just switch over to a fifth wheel hitch to correct this problem? I did purchase this converter ball adapter from Etrailer.

The # CAB-C5G adapter can be used to allow you to tow your fifth wheel with the gooseneck hitch in your 2001 F-350, and is typically used for occasional towing. These adapters are a good solution, but do not provide as nice a ride when towing a fifth wheel trailer with a fifth wheel hitch.

If your gooseneck is a B&W Turnover Ball, Hide-A-Goose by Draw-Tite or Reese, or Under-Bed by Bulldog, I recommend the Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, part # 9480. This hitch has a 4-way pivoting head and dual jaws that greatly decrease the jarring and chucking you are experiencing.

I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch adapter you can check out.
