High Capacity Trailer Hitch Option for a Class A Motorhome

Question:

I have a 2005 Itasca Suncruiser Class A RV with a class 3 hitch on it. I would like to upgrade this to a class iv hitch to be able to carry an 800 pound motorcycle on the back using a mighty hauler 100M . Do you have a hitch that would do this? Thanks

I have a universal fit hitch setup that would have more capacity, but you will need to make sure that the RV has the additional capacity you would require as well. A towing setup is only as strong as it's weakest component.

You would want the multi-fit RV hitche like # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916 depending on which would work best on your RV.

We don't have too many hitches with that kind of capacity. You'll need to go with a 3" receiver hitch like the Reese Super Titan # 38211, which features a 25K towing capacity and a 4,000 pound tongue weight limit when using a 2-5/16" hitch ball. This will only work though if your frame rail width is between 33-1/2" to 34-1/2".
