Can Firestone Air Spring Kit F4135 Be Adapted to Fit 2005 Honda Pilot EX
Question:
I purchased a Firestone Air Helper Spring Kit 4135 for my 05 Toyota 4runner. I have since sold it and still have the whole kit. I am wondering if I can use this kit on my 2005 honda pilot, ex. 3.5lt. v6. I have been going through your site and see that the pilot needs the 4179 kit. Is there any way to cross reference and let me know if i can use the 4135 in place of the 4179 or if Id need any additional parts? black spacer/seat looks to be the difference in packaging Please let me know. Best regards!

The air bags themselves in Firestone Coil-Rite kits # F4135 and # F4179 are different. This is not readily visible based on the photos of the two kits but my contact at Firestone confirmed that these two kits use different size air bladders and so they are not interchangeable between the 2005 Toyota 4Runner and the 2005 Honda Pilot EX.
For your 2005 Honda Pilot EX you will need to order kit # F4179. The install instructions are linked for you. Often a tubing cutter # AL10530 will simplify installation by giving you clean square cuts on your air line.
Be sure to always keep at least 5-psi pressure in the air bags.
