The Tow Ready Modulite Power Converter 5-Way Flat and Circuit Protection # 119177KIT is a universal installation application, so we do not have specific installation instructions for a 2012 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
You will want to splice the wiring harness into the Sprinter's factory wiring using the included quick-splice connectors. When we installed a similar wiring harness on a 2013 Sprinter, the wiring connections were made a couple of inches before the taillight connector at the rear of the vehicle. The brown wire will be spliced into the vehicle's tail light circuit, the yellow wire connects to the left turn, the green wire to the right turn, the red wire to the brake light signal, and the blue wire to the backup light circuit. I have attached a help article on routing the power wire for a trailer wiring harness for you.
The included circuit tester can be used to test the wires on your Sprinter for their functions. It is easiest to have a buddy in the driver's seat activate the different taillight functions while you test the wires with the circuit tester. I have attached a video showing the use of a circuit tester for you.
I have also attached the installation instructions for the # 119177KIT.
