Question:

Installed hidden hitch on our 2007 Pacifica. Went well with some glitches with time to complete. Also put in the wiring with 4 wire flat connector. Looking at a pop top camper with a Round 6 wire connector. 2011 Rockwood Freedom 1950 Model. Want simple solution please. Can I jump it to bring it home? Thanks and Happy Holidays,

6-Way connectors are typically used on trailers that have brakes. For a simple solution you can use an adapter like part # 37175. This will plug into your 4-way and give you a 6-way connector to plug the camper into. Keep in mind that you will not have the 12V power or brake functions using this adapter.

For a full installation to be able to use the brakes on your trailer, you will need a brake controller like part # 90885, and also the wiring needed to install it.

To complete the wiring for a brake controller and give you a 6-way on your vehicle I recommend part # ETBC6. The ETBC6 also has a 4-way connector. The ETBC6 includes the wiring, connectors, screws, and tie straps along with circuit breakers needed to complete the wiring. The red wire will need to be run to the positive battery post using the included 40 amp breaker. You then need to run a wire from the battery post to the brake controller with an inline 20 amp breaker.

The blue wire will need to be run to the brake controller. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to run the wiring.
