The Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way Trailer Connector # HM42190 is a OEM replacement for the factory-installed 7-way on your 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The linked photo shows you the rectangular connector that will plug in to the mating one on the vehicle as long as the Jeep had this feature from the factory.
This RV-style blade pin 7-way socket carries lighting, trailer brake and 12V power signals for a trailer. You can refer to the linked article on trailer wiring for the typical function assignments for each pin of a 7-way. The 12V charging circuit can deliver enough current for a trickle or maintenance charge for the trailer battery, however this power feed will NOT deliver enough current to charge a depleted battery. It can provide enough to help maintain a charged battery while you tow. If you have a depleted battery you will want to charge it with a shore power charger like the # CTEK56353 before you head out.
If your Wrangler Unlimited did not come with a factory 7-way socket then you'll first need to have a 4-pole flat trailer connector on it in order to then convert that to a 7-way format. You can use Tow Ready plug-in harness part # 118416 to give you a 4-pole, and then add our # ETBC7 kit to convert that to a 7-way. An installation article and video for the ETBC7 are linked for your review.
